For immediate release – Montréal, October 21, 2025 — The Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame (CSHF) is proud to announce the lineup for the 2025 Legends Induction Ceremony, presented by RBC, taking place on November 17 at Espace St-Denis in Montréal. The event promises to be a moving and memorable night filled with heartfelt tributes and powerful performances celebrating this year’s Inductees and their lasting impact on Canadian music. Tickets are available through Espace St-Denis HERE.
Hosted by Anne-Marie Withenshaw, the evening will bring together some of Canada’s most iconic voices — Richard Séguin, Diane Juster, Roch Voisine, Rufus and Martha Wainwright — alongside Le Roy, La Rose et Le Lou[p], Marie-Mai, Ivan Boivin-Flamand, Viviane Audet, Elisapie, Jonathan Roy, Steve Hill, Daniel Boucher, Martine St-Clair, and Emilie-Claire Barlow.
Montréal will pay tribute to legendary figures of our musical heritage: Kate & Anna McGarrigle, celebrated for their harmonies and timeless songs (Complainte pour Ste-Catherine); François Cousineau, a defining composer in Quebec’s repertoire (J’ai rencontré l’homme de ma vie, T’es belle); Michel Pagliaro, a bilingual rock pioneer (J’entends frapper, Rainshowers); and Florent Vollant, a leading voice in Indigenous music (E Uassiuian, Nipaiamianan).
The 2025 Breakthrough Songwriter Award, presented by the SOCAN Foundation with support from Amazon Music, will be awarded to Rau_ze, recipient of the Francophone category, recognizing the duo’s powerful songwriting and meteoric rise.
“The Legends series is much more than a ceremony — it’s a living bridge between generations of Canadian music,” says Nick Fedor, Executive Director of the CSHF. “By celebrating both the pioneers and the new wave of songwriters, we ensure the vitality and longevity of our shared musical legacy.”
The 2025 Inductees will also be permanently honoured at Studio Bell, home of the National Music Centre in Calgary, where artifacts and memorabilia will commemorate their contribution to Canadian music history.
Special thanks to the event’s sponsors and partners: RBC, SOCAN, CMRRA, peermusic, the Songwriters Association of Canada (S.A.C), the Lewitt Family Foundation, and e=mc² for their invaluable support in celebrating and promoting Canadian songwriters through these meaningful programs and events.
ABOUT CANADIAN SONGWRITERS HALL OF FAME (CSHF)
The Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame (CSHF) is a national and non-profit organization that is dedicated to honouring and celebrating Canadian songwriters and those who’ve dedicated their lives to the legacy of music. The CSHF also works to educate the public about these achievements and to foster the next generation of songwriters through year-round initiatives and events. In December of 2011, SOCAN (the Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada) acquired the CSHF; however, the Hall of Fame continues to be run as a separate organization and is guided by its own Board of Directors, comprised of both Anglophone and Francophone music creators and publishers, as well as representation from the record industry. The CSHF’s mandate aligns with SOCAN’s objectives as a songwriter and publisher membership-based organization. For more information, visit www.cshf.ca.
