Producer and talent agent Guy Latraverse has, since the early sixties, represented the biggest names in comedy and song in both French Quebec and France, including familiar names like Robert Charlebois, Diane Dufresne, Yvon Deschamps, Jean Lapointe, Claude Léveillée, Charles Aznavour, Petula Clark, Julien Clerc, Léo Ferré and Raymond Devos.
Guy Latraverse is one of the founding members of the Association québécoise de l’industrie du disque, du spectacle et de la vidéo (ADISQ), an organization which he presided in 1980-1981 and for which he acted as producer of its Galas from 1979 to 1986. He is also the co-founder of the FrancoFolies de Montréal and has been its Vice-President since 1989.
For over 35 years, Guy Latraverse has invested his immense talent and know-how in the production of television shows, his main field of interest since 1985. The Academy of Canadian Cinema and television has already recognized his exceptional contribution at the Gala des Gémeaux in 1999 by awarding him the Career Achievement Tribute Award for his accomplishments in the field of television production. In addition, his 40-year career was commemorated in grand fashion by the artistic milieu at the Corona Theatre. Everyone present expressed how just how much he has transformed Quebec’s present cultural landscape and will continue to contribute to it for many years to come.
In addition to his professional activities, Guy Latraverse devotes himself to REVIVRE (a Quebec association in support of people affected by anxiety, depression or bipolar disorders), an organization he has presided since 1992. He has received the Prix Hommage Bénévolat Québec 2004; a prize awarded him by the Government of Quebec in recognition of his exceptional engagement and devoted volunteer work.
